Fusel Oil a blend of oily, volatile liquids prepared in small quantity in alcoholic fermentation. The fusel oil alcohols are in fact produced in the process of fermentation from amino acids. When speaking of industrial alcohol plants, fusel oil and ethyl alcohol are recovered from the fermented liquors and divided by distillation. In the beverage industry, fusel oil is usually allowed to be a part of the finished products. Before the production of industrial synthetic amyl alcohols started during 1920s, fusel oil was the foremost commercial resource of these compounds, which are considered as the most important ingredients of lacquer solvents.
