World Record of 1009 Runs by a Mumbai Schoolboy-29 Sixes,129 Fours

Cricket is always in the news not just because of its popularity but because of the extraordinary talents we have in our country. This time it was the turn of a Mumbai schoolboy who scored a huge 1009 runs off 323 deliveries. It is a great feat to achieve considering his age. He is now only 15 year old and is the son of an auto-rickshaw driver.

Pranav Dhanawade the schoolboy became the first batsman to score 1000 plus runs in any form of cricket. It was a school cricket match played between KC Gandhi English High School and Arya Gurukul in the U-16 HT Bhandan Trophy Inter-School Cricket Tournament.

Pranav Dhanawade was playing for KC Gandhi English High School and scored the massive runs. The team from Arya Gurukul was all out for just a meager 31 runs in just 20 overs and in reply the Gandhi English School Cricket scored 1465 runs.

The wonder boy hit 59 sixes and 129 fours in his illustrious innings.  When asked by reporters how he was able to score so many runs, he just said that nothing special was in his mind and the runs just came from his bat. He is also a wicketkeeper and he idolisises Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin

In the course of his innings he surpassed Prithvi Shaw’s marathon 546 runs which was scored in 2014 in a Harrris Shield match. His coach Momin Sheikh believes that his great innings will inspire more youths to join the fascinating game and the entire Kalyan suburb will benefit. The coach wished that now government should come forward and improve the facilities in the area for the development of the game.

There are many more in the line like Pranav to show their talent and hopefully India will have more talents in hand to fight of the opposition team when the need arises. Batting legend and cricket greatest icon Sachin Tendulkar also is from Mumbai and has congratulated Pranav Dhanwade for his special knock of 100 runs
